An early preparation...

As I mentioned in my post yesterday, I am already in the Christmas spirit (2 months early)!
Heck, I am in the Christmas spirit all year long.

I was so excited to see that Jessi from Naptime Diaries has created an Advent Calendar. It is just what I have been searching for. This will be the perfect way for us to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas every day during Advent. Meaningful and stylish...it will be a great addition to our holiday decor.
Please go and check out her online shop.
Lucky me, I was able to get a FREE print for ordering the Advent Calendar today.
So grateful.

'Tis a great day!

Happy Friday, everyone!

Fall Family Fun!

Man oh man, have we been having fun! So much fun, I almost feel guilty. Life has been grand as our little family enjoys every single day. We are so blessed. SO, SO blessed.
I hope Xander has been having as much fun as we have been. He doesn't seem to be complaining one bit.  Between pumpkin patches, driving to see the fall foliage, and carving pumpkins with the best of friends, we are full of season spirit.
Having fun with pumpkins at Willey's Farms!
10/ 13 / 12    8 months old!
Foliage at Valley Forge

Pumpkin carving/ painting with the best buds!
My favorite of the male species. So handsome/cute.
I am surely in love with these two.
After Christmas (of course), this is my favorite time of year. I love the colors, the smells, the company, and the traditions. I really value every minute spent with my family and love creating new traditions for Alexander. I want every day to be so meaningful and special. I don't want to miss a single opportunity.

Speaking of new traditions... I think I volunteered to have Thanksgiving dinner at my house. Well I don't think... I know I did. I am excited and extremely nervous at the same time. I have never made a dinner that big for that many people. I am sure I will be blogging a lot more about that in November.

This weekend I am working so not too much planned, but next weekend we are going to a Baby Costume Party & "Punkin' Chunkin". More on that to follow.

On a Christmas note... I am getting super pumped for this holiday season. It is Xander's first Christmas and so many memories are to be made. I can't wait to share my love of this holiday with him. Who doesn't love to celebrate the birth of our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ?!         To say I am excited is a bit of an understatement.

For now, I will continue to enjoy every single second of the rest of this blessed Fall Season!

New Look

I have been away for about a month. Lots of family stuff to tend to, including the passing of my Grandmom. Between taking care of Xander, I tried to update my blog yesterday. I updated the look but didn't have time to write a post.
This is a small and quick blurb before I run out the door for a busy, rainy day of work.
Loving the light falling rain, the quiet peace outside, and my cup of French Vanilla coffee.  After some praise and prayer, I think I am ready to jump start my day!

Happy Friday!

7 Months

{This post is a few days late.}
Our baby boy turned 7 months on September 8th.
Here a few photos captured by our phones with some stats.
We love you, sweet, sweet Alexander. Truly the best baby EVER!! :D
Here you are on your first ride in a shopping cart, sitting like a big boy.
Before this, we had to carry the car seat everywhere and it was a pain.
Now that you sit up so strongly, no need for that bulky car seat anymore.

This is your cute sleepy face right after you woke up.
You are always so happy and full of smiles after your good sleep.
You usually sleep 10 to 12 straight hours. We are so blessed.
I hear babies like you are a rare breed and we appreciate that God gave you
my sleeping habits. You even sleep with your arms above your head and
sleep with your mouth open (sometimes), just like your momma.

At 7 months, you aren't quite crawling, but you are definitely on the move!
You do this wiggle thing where you scooch yourself forward using your legs first as
a push off then you army crawl your chest and arms forward. You are getting
so close to crawling on all fours. Although we are in no rush,
this is an exciting time and it's always fun when you reach milestones.
Oh, and you are a rolling machine. You roll across the room sometimes. ;)

This is you over Grandmom & Nonna's house.
This was your first time wearing overall's although you can't really tell in this photo.
For the most part, you are currently wearing 9 month onsies, 9 and 12 month
sleepers, and 12 month pants are needed for the length.
You are always smiling and always so happy. You definitely have many of your dad's
personality traits. Already a social butterfly. You also have quite the sense of humor.
You make this funny farting noise with your mouth and you have these hilarious screeches
that are so loud and you carry the notes out. You laugh when I tickle you on your neck
and belly. You love looking at yourself in the mirror and "reading" books.
Watching your turn the pages of books is so cute. Most of them end up in your mouth.

A foggy walk with Dad and Cami while mommy worked.
You love being in the stroller and you love looking around and studying your surroundings.
Right now, you eat carrots, apples, pears, pineapple, avocado, string beans, peas,
pumpkin, sweet potatoes (your first food), and bananas.
So far you have loved everything we have given you. You get an A+ for eating.
You currently have an obsession with any device with lights and buttons.
You love every remote control we have, including XBox controllers, and you
love playing and trying to chew on our phones. When you play with our
phones and see your picture as our wallpaper, you smile and talk to yourself.
It is too cute for words.

Well, it is crazy how quickly these 7 months have flown by.
We are loving every second we get to spend with you. We love watching you grow
and discover new things each day. You are a gift from God and we are
blessed with a beautiful, happy and healthy baby boy!
WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

Grandmom Duty

My Grandmom was a very crucial part of my upbringing, if not the most crucial part. I would say that I spent most of my time with her and lived with her for most of my life. She cooked my meals, cleaned my room, did my laundry, brushed my hair, tucked me in at night, etc, etc. I love her dearly and feel as if I will never be able to repay her for all she has done for me over the years.

Tomorrow, little man and I make the trek to visit her and assist her with daily headaches, such as her medicine and dealing with her oxygen. Although she stresses me out 80% of the time, I am looking forward to helping her.

[Getting old is not easy]

I am praying that everything goes well and that we have a nice visit.

I should probably be in bed right now, as I am exhausted.

Good night, blog world.

Labor Day Weekend

I worked my regular Friday and Saturday shifts, which really tired me out this week. I was then able to spend Sunday and Monday with our families. We brought Xander to the beach... well, actually the bay to be accurate. He just loved the water and he seemed to be fascinated by the small waves. We can't wait to take him to the big ocean next year!

Sunday was a great and relaxing day full of family and delicious food. Grateful for all of the love and support that surrounds us.

Down Time

I truly love spending my days with our little one. He is such a joy and I am so blessed to be able to stay home with him 5 out of 7 days. I also really value the time after he is in bed, the time I get to spend with my husband. I just love sitting on the couch and watching movies together or just talking about our lives and the world around us. I think this time is essential for every marriage. It is also great for me to spend time with another adult, chatting about adult things and watching adult programming. After a fun and eventful day with my son, it is nice to sit down and take it easy.
This isn't a super post. I was just looking over at my husband and realizing how blessed I am. I am blessed to have him home and blessed to have a great marriage.

Happy wife, happy life!

It's a beautiful day to start a blog...

Why not?

I have been wanting to start a blog for a while now. I have tried in the past and would consider them... failed attempts. It seems that a lot of fellow mommy's start blogs to share stories, showcase their adorable children, and to vent. I guess that is why I'm here. I work mainly on the weekends and am home most of the week with my own adorable baby, a 6 month old boy, Xander. He is my heart and soul and I am so blessed to be able to spend most of my time with him. I wouldn't have it any other way. While he naps, I try to get some stuff done around the house (ha!) and I read other mom's blogs to have someone to relate to. Most of my local mommy friends work full time Monday through Friday, with the rest of the rat race. Some days it gets lonely and it is nice to read blogs from women that are going through what I am going through.

I am not quite sure what I will write on here yet. I may post pics of my son, I may do product reviews, I may just vent and complain, I am be motivated to be more productive and crafty... who knows? As long as this helps me grow as a person and as a mommy, I will be satisfied with my efforts.

This is an exciting new venture and I am glad I finally decided to take the plunge and do this.

::Raising my mug, filled with my second cup of coffee for the day::   Here's to being a mom and blogging our experiences along the way.

Here, here!
